Why do I want the annointing?

(Luke 4:18-19 NKJV) “The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the Gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed; {19} To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD.”

In the midst of studying about the annointing this morning, I came to the realisation that I should not just seek the annointing for selfish reasons. Instead, the annointing must enable me to:
1. Proclaim good news to the poor
2. Proclaim liberty to the captives
3. Heal the sick, the blind and the lame
4. Set at liberty those who are oppressed
5. Declare the Lord’s favor on those I come to contact with.

Basically, I must not be a selfish Christian who only seeks God for my own problems, but I must allow God to use me as a willing  vessel and messenger of the gospel.
